Adler Joins the Fiume Bello Swim Club
Adler, though not sure at first, acclimated to the swimming pool quite nicely! When we were looking at cottages, neither of us cared about a pool, but after spending a few 90degree+ days up there, we are sure glad we have one!

fishin' with dad
Well, no fish in this fishing hole up the road from the cottage, but looks like it might be nice for swimming later in the summer.
This is the first weekend the Ellenville farmers market is open, and despite insanely hard thunderstorms, lots of the vendors were there.
For the first time ever, we didn't really DO much of anything-- a little weeding, a little cleaning, nothing requiring power tools. It was on the verge of being actually RELAXING!

Banishing Band-Aid Hued paint forever!
We finally couldn't take it anymore--- even though we haven't picked the final color for the kitchen/dining room, we just couldn't take it anymore--- we painted it white, and painted the trim to match the rest of the cottage. Now, you are no longer instantly depressed and slightly disgusted when you walk in the front door- it's great! Also, since Adler is making moves toward crawling, I wanted the floors to be clean so now I don't have to worry about the little dude and whatever mystery schmutz was all over that old floor-- besides, even after I m0pped it, it used to look just as dirty as before!
Of course, now we REALLY need to paint the grubby dresser next to the sink...but we ran out of time this week.

making the livingroom less awful
We had been doing our best to ignore the livingroom.....but we realized we would never convince anyone to come visit if they had to stay in that stinky old linoleum and crappy fake beadboard paneled room . So, we thought we should paint. And I have to say, even though we don't even have the trim done, it is a VAST improvement! After all that hard work, Mike decided to relax with Adler under the shady tree, and I got started on our front garden.
